take chances, make mistakes, get messy: “resolutions” for 2012
Let’s be honest — Calvin and Hobbes have a good point there. But hey, I’m sure we can all benefit from trying to better ourselves. With that said, here’s my list of goals/ what I’d like to consider my quest for “personal perfection in the new year.”
- pay down credit card bill
- go on longer bike rides
- write more
- read more (for leisure)
- tell more stories at open mics
- attend more sporting events
- consolidate student loans (UGHHHH)
- learn twi (father’s native language in ghana)
- play more guitar
- host theme parties (fondue, catalina wine mixer, black tie, etc.)
- be selfish in a good way (AKA don’t quadruple book myself every weekend/make time for personal projects)
- run more (doing a 10k in february, an 8k in march, and a 1/2 marathon in may. whoo boy.)
- travel to new places
- wear bowties more often
Good thing “waking up early” isn’t on this list. That one went out the window when the clock on my friend’s laptop said 12:32pm. Yikes. Happy New Year, y’all.
