Funny, because I was just telling the editor of the show I work on that I’m still mad confused about what’s going on in the Middle East…
Well she glides around the globe and she’ll flimflam every nation,
She’s a double-dealing diva with a taste for thievery,
Her itinerary’s loaded up with moving violations,
Tell me where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?

Damn it, why did I press ze button? Totally stuck in my head. On second thought, I’m jammin’ out to this at work. Nice find.
Dude finds out that his girlfriend of 5 years is cheating. Dude calls radio station to dump cheating girlfriend on the air. Girl thinks she is being proposed to…
OH MY GOD.

Wowza, what a trainwreck. I love drama that isn’t mine.
WOW. From the second she picked answered the phone, she was in a world of hurt.
As a former ATLien of 6 years, I love following people on here from the Dirty South. It’s like a little taste of home…digitally. Where do you live in Atlanta, where are you from originally, and where are your local hangouts? Do not skimp on details!
where do you live now? Did you love it?
Ok so I live in the Grant Park/Summerhill (…my partna ‘dem…) area right by Turner Field. We love it and before then we lived in the SWATS which was cool too.
Grant Park. Nice. Hope you’re safe over there. Betcha can’t wait until Braves games start up again.
Funny you ask this back, because I’m flying back home next Friday! Woo!
Well, when I went to Georgia State for undergrad, I lived on campus right down the street from the Coke Factory and the aquarium (until Tech bought the dorms), and then on the corner of John Wesley Dobbs & Piedmont near Peachtree Center. But before I moved to D.C., I lived in a huge house in Buckhead right near the TARA called the Thunderdome. Insane.
Before the ATL, Jersey was my home up until 10th grade, then I moved to Gwinnett…before Atlanta.
Totally hear you on being a homebody for a bit. I really didn’t explore Atlanta until the end of college, partly because of my lack of (proper) transportation. But once I was out and about, I frequented L5P for record shopping and shows, East Atlanta for the bars, the Highlands for, yes, the less douchy bars, and bits of Midtown and Buckhead when it came time to brave the Ed Hardy freaks with friends who insisted on going to Opera and Door 44.
I must say, I miss the crap out of the Fork and Screen and T-Mac in Buckhead, Graveyard, MJQ, to say the least. OH - definitely check out the authentic Asian karaoke bar off Buford Hwy. on 285. Great times.
Lupe Fiasco - What U Want
This song has been out for a while. I think it’s supposed to be on the next record, LASERS, but I’m not sure. It’s mellow and simple, it’s my theme song for today. I’m really looking forward to the new Lupe material. Lupe is my favorite lyricist. I’m not always fond of the tracks that he uses but his lyrical skills are incomparable. People say Lil Wayne, but in terms of content and meaning I’d argue that I get more out of one Lupe song than an entire Wayne album.
Totally agree on all fronts, especially your last line about lyrical content. I really hope Lupe keeps it going. Hip-hop needs the innovators (especially from the Midwest) to keep fresh and alive.
